Century snapped a three-game losing skid at the Farmington tournament and improved to 9-8 overall and 9-2-0 in the Big Nine. Mayo (4-11-1, 2-8-1) lost its fourth straight in conference play.

It was Century's second win over Mayo this season but much closer than the first one which the Panthers won 10-0 in mid November.

"Mayo has improved a lot since we played them early in season," Century coach Dan Maidl said. "It was a good game and I thought we got a little better each period.
