Girls hockey | Maple Grove 3, Dodge County 2

MAPLE GROVE — Maple Grove rallied for two goals in the third period and edged Dodge County 3-2 on Friday night in a game between ranked girls hockey teams.

Dodge County, ranked No. 12 in Class AA, had a 28-23 edge in shots on goal. Kayla Schubert and Olivia Smallbrock scored goals for the Wildcats, and Gabby Suhr made 21 saves for the Wildcats. Maple Grove is ranked No. 6 in AA.

Dodge County (5-3) plays at at North Wright County at 5 p.m. Saturday.

Notes:"We were up on them 2-1 with 6 minutes to go and let this slip away from us," said D.C. head coach Jeremy Gunderson. "Special teams really hurt us today as we gave up a power play goal on a mistake, and we could finish on the chances we had. Both there late goals we gave them as easy turnovers by our defense in our zone."
