ST. PAUL— Carly Bullock scored her second goal of the game, and the biggest of her career, just 38 seconds into the second overtime to lift Blake past Red Wing, 5-4, in a Class A girls hockey state tournament semifinal game Friday at the Xcel Energy Center.
Bullock's 49th goal of the season lifts No. 2 seed Blake into Saturday's state championship game. The Bears will attempt to defend their state championship they won a year ago.
Third-seeded Red Wing put up a tremendous effort, battling through fatigue and holding up despite Blake having an advantage with a deeper bench.
Blake (22-7-1) led 4-2 midway through the second period, but Emily Stegora scored with 3:08 to go in the second to pull the Wingers (23-7-0) within 4-3 after two.
Nicole Schammel's second goal of the game, and 63rd of her senior season, came with 4:59 to go in the third period and forced overtime.

Neither team scored in the first OT, but in the first minute of the second OT, Bullock split two defenders as she entered the Red Wing zone. She came in alone and beat Wingers goalie Ashley Corcoran five-hole for the game winner.
Red Wing will play for third place at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Xcel Center.
