It wasn't easy, but the Rochester Mayo girls soccer squad stretched its winning streak to nine on Thursday with a 2-0 win over Rochester Century.
"Century played well and put up a good challenge for us," said Mayo head coach Andre Bailey. "Our defense was outstanding, limiting the Panthers from having many goal-scoring opportunities."
Mayo's first goal was by Lindsey Greenland offer a corner kick, and late in the second half, Kayley Josephs found the back of the net to effectively put the game out of reach. Mayo goalie Katie Meyer stopped all four shots she faced, while Century goal Amanda LaDue finished with 8 saves.
