CHASKA — Red Wing's Stephanie Herzog faltered a bit in the second day but still finished fourth at the Minnesota Junior Girls' Golf Championship on Wednesday.
Herzog finished with a 6-over-par 150 at the Chaska Town Course and ended five strokes behind tournament champion Taylor Ledwein of New Prague.
Herzog, an incoming senior at Red Wing, was in second place with 71 after the first day of the tournament on Tuesday. She carded 79 on Wednesday, with twice as many bogeys (six) and half as many pars (two). During the high school season she finished tied for 11th at the Class AAA state meet.
Lake City's Alexandra Geolat finished tied for 10th with 161, and Emily Schimbeno tied for 18th with 166, along with Leah Herzog of Red Wing. Stewartville's Ahna Boe was 44th (207).
• The 90th Minnesota State Junior Boys' Championship featured seven golfers who finished below par for 36 holes at Eagle Creek Golf Club.

Staples-Motley graduate Andrew Isrealson won the tournament with a 6-under 138, edging Ben Sigel of Minnetonka by a single stroke. Sigel will be a senior at Minnetonka and was the Class AAA state champion in June. Isrealson finished tied for 23rd in Class AA.
There were no Rochester area boys players in the tournament, which is present by the Minnesota Golf Association.
