OWATONNA — Rochester Century senior Natalia Jacobson ended Rochester's 15-year drought without a section gymnastics all-around champion on Friday night.
Jacobson won the all-around title at the Section 1AA meet with 38.05 points, and Century senior Andy Jacobs was third all-around with 37.8. They qualified again for the state meet next week at the University of Minnesota.
Owatonna won the team title with 146.90 points and Century was second with 143.35.
"This had to be one of the toughest section meets in the state with three teams scoring over 140," said Amy Stites, co-head coach of Rochester's three public school teams.
Jacobson is the first Rochester high school gymnast to win the section all-around title since Century's Amy Heath in 2000.

"It's been a long time, and of course we're really pleased with that and proud of Natalia," said Stites.
Jacobson won the bars (9.6) and was second in the beam. Jacobs won the floor convincingly with 9.75, and was second on the vault and bars.
JM junior Maddie Woodford was unable to compete after suffering a concussion at practice. Century sophomore Maddie Rashid had a fall on her dismount on the beam that kept her from qualifying in the top four.
