OWATONNA -- John Marshall sophomore Lily Meister joined her mother in the Rockets' history books on Tuesday in a 68-52 victory over Owatonna in Big Nine Conference girls basketball.

Meister paced the Rockets with 26 points and scored her 1,000th career point in the process. Her mother, Angie, was the first player in John Marshall history to score 1,000 points in girls basketball.

"Lilly Meister scored her 1,000th point which made the night even more special," JM coach Phil Schroeder said.

Alexa Motley chipped in with 16 points for the Rockets and she drained four 3-pointers.

Schroeder said it was "a very good road win against an athletic and improving Owatonna team. We did a nice job of moving the ball around on offense and did some nice things on defense."

The Rockets are now 10-5 overall, 8-3 in the Big Nine. Owatonna drops to 4-10, 4-7 in the Big Nine.
