Mayo was introduced to the Joe Aase Show on Friday night.

It was a fine one, if you're a fan of Aase and the Austin Packers. The 6-foot-8 senior forward hit 6 of 9 3-pointers. Most of them, according to Mayo coach Shaun Lang, were with defenders draped all over him.

All of it led to a 64-39 Austin win over the Spartans at Mayo.

The Packers stayed unbeaten at 18-0 overall. They are 11-0 in the Big Nine.

"Joe Aase was unguardable tonight," Lang said. "He was stepping back and hitting 3-pointers. We did a good job on him, but he was just unguardable."

Aase finished with 34 points. Bret Lukes joined him in double figures with 13. Austin finished 10-for-18 from 3-point distance.

Mayo trailed just 25-19 at halftime.

"I feel bad for our guys," Lang said. "We did execute well. I was extremely proud of how poised we were and how well we executed, especially in the first half."

Mayo got 10 points from Alex Proell and eight from Maurice Cain.

Mayo is 1-10 in the conference and 2-16 overall.
