LATE GOAL GIVES CENTURY THE WIN
OWATONNA — Century got goals from Addie Clarey and Emma Elliott and emerged with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Owatonna on Thursday in Big Nine Conference girls soccer.
Elliott scored her goal just 30 seconds into the contest, taking a ball that had been deflected by Clarey and knocking it into the goal.
With just 1:02 left in regulation, Mongi Obang dribbled, then passed the ball into the goalie box. The Owatonna keeper mishandled it and Clarey was there to finish thing up, banging it in the goal for the winning score.
"It was a very physical game," Century coach Karen LaDue said. "I am proud of the players for not backing down. "
Goalie Kate Kopp had six saves for the Panthers.

LOURDES BLANKS K-M 5-0
Lourdes scored four goals in the first half and went on to defeat Kasson-Mantorville 5-0 in Hiawatha Valley League girls soccer on Thursday.
Emmy Fiek scored two goals for Lourdes while Emma Schmitz, Alyssa Ustby and Katelyn Hallock scored one each.
"This was a great conference win for us tonight," Lourdes coach Sarah Groven said. "K-M is a feisty team that doesn’t quit and they kept us scrambling at times."
Goalkeeper Paige Gallaugher made three saves to record the shutout for the Eagles.
"Our midfield played well tonight," Groven said. "Bella Talbot, Lizzie Leitzen and Kaitlyn Hallock each had a strong game. I’m proud of our effort. It’s always nice to see our seniors get on the scoreboard and the points spread throughout the offense."

COUGARS TOP JM IN OT
Mankato East scored a pair of goals in overtime to slip past John Marshall 4-2 in Big Nine Confernce girls soccer on Tuesday.
The Rockets trailed 2-0 at the half before getting goals from Ella Pattinson and Aliyah Fesenmaier to force the two non-sudden death overtime periods. East scored on goal in each period.
This was the second straight OT game for the Rockets.
JM goalkeeper Jordan Clark finished with eight saves.
"This young Rocket team continues to grow every game," JM coach Brian Dahl said. "It is going to be exciting to see what this team can do when sections roll around."
