What happened: Saturday, in a day that was reserved for finals in the Class AA meet at Hamline University in St. Paul, the deluxe Century 4x100 boys relay team had trouble with its handoffs and finished second to Alexandria. Mayo's Wendt lands second: After winning the long jump on Friday with a personal-best leap of 18-8 1/2, Mayo senior Annie Wendt was a fraction off of finishing first in the triple jump. Wendt cleared 38-2 1/4, a personal best. The first-place winner also went 38-2 1/4, but her second best jump was one-fourth an inch better than Wendt's.

Amusan second: Century standout sprinter Sam Amusan landed second to Hopkins phenom Joe Fahnbulleh in the 200. Amusan was timed in 22.10, Fahnbulleh in 21.21.
