All-State volleyball player Erin Lamb has made her choice.

The 6-feet-2 Stewartville junior has verbally committed to the University of Kentucky to play college volleyball.

Lamb, also a standout basketball player who had been recruited at the high Division I level in that sport, decided in the last two months that she would be pursuing volleyball at the college level. And on Saturday, she let it be know just where she was headed, announcing it on Twitter.

Lamb was a first-team All-State selection in volleyball last year. She is a middle hitter for the Tigers, who are 14-1-0 overall and ranked No. 1 in Class AA. Ranked third is fellow Hiawatha Valley League team Kasson-Mantorville.

Kentucky is currently ranked 15th in the country. The Wildcats are coached by Craig Skinner, who has led the program to 14 straight NCAA Tournament appearances. That includes five runs to the Sweet 16 since 2009.
