Youth wrestling

Rochester youth wrestling signup is coming up, starting Tuesday with the Mayo Youth Wrestling Association. Youth wrestlers are encouraged to sign up within the school they’ll likely attend. Youth wrestlers pictured are, from left, Danan Nelson (John Marshall, first grade), Ryan Priebe (Mayo, first grade), Aiden Churchill (Century, first grade), and Jonah Karow (John Marshall, second grade).

Signup for Rochester youth wrestling starts Tuesday for one local youth wrestling club.

The youth wrestling programs are split between the three Rochester public schools; future Mayo wrestlers should participate with Mayo Youth Wrestling Association, future Century wrestlers should participate with Rochester Panthers Wrestling Club and future John Marshall and Lourdes wrestlers should participate with Rocket Wrestling Club.

Both beginner and experienced (preschool through sixth grade) wrestlers are encouraged to register. All clubs have introductory programs (practices in November) for new wrestlers.

If interested athletes miss the registration date, they can still sign up for any of the three programs during the season by contacting the appropriate person listed below.

The Mayo Youth Wrestling Association is set to hold its signup Tuesday night from 6 p.m. through 7:30 p.m. in the Mayo High School wrestling room (enter through door No. 6).
