EAU CLAIR, Wis. — The Rochester Honkers made it two straight wins over the Eau Claire Express on Thursday night, riding six runs in the final two innings to prevail 6-1 in Northwoods League baseball.
The Honkers used five hits and an Eau Claire walk in the eighth to propel them to that four-run frame.
Ryan Webberley (Cal Poly Pomona) got things started, stroking his first of two doubles in the game. Then, after Eau Claire got the next two Honkers batters out, Rochester stroked three straight singles and reach on an error, before notching one more hit. All of it led to a 4-1 Honkers lead.
Webberley also led off the ninth inning with a double and later scored.
The Honkers (14-8 overall) finished with nine hits and just one error. Mark Contreras (UC Riverside) — playing for the first time for Rochester — was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Webberley had two hits as did Alex Schultz (Nebraska-Omaha).

Winning pitching was Jake Sparger (Louisville). He worked two scoreless innings in relief of Josh Pigg (Hawaii).
The Honkers host Willmar at 7:05 p.m. today.
