Hutchinson routs Holy Angels for AAAA title

MINNEAPOLIS — Robbie Grimsley ran for three scores — including a Prep Bowl record 92-yard dash — as Hutchinson beat the Academy of Holy Angels 49-7 in the Class AAAA Championship Friday at Mall of America Field.

Grimsley finished with 261 yards on six carries. He scored on runs of 76, 57 and 92 yards in the first quarter to put the Tigers (13-0) well on their way to their second straight title.

Tory Adams returned a punt 50 yards early in the second for a 28-0 lead and added three rushing touchdowns later. He scored from 21 yards out in the second quarter and added 6- and 9-yard runs in the fourth quarter as part of his 19-carry, 147-yard day.

Anthony Ekholm scored on an 8-yard run with 13 seconds left for the Stars (7-6).

Hutchinson captured their fifth state football championship with the victory.
