MEDINA — Byron's Dominic Kieffer shot a 1-under par 71 on Monday in the first round of the MGA Amateur Championship at the Medina Golf & Country Club. That left him tied for fifth with two others.
Kieffer shot a 36 on the front nine and a 35 on the back.
In first place are Andy Jacobson and Ben Welle, each with 3-under par 69s.
Kieffer was the 2012 MGA Junior Co-Player of the Year.
