Putting together a six-run rally in the bottom of the sixth inning gave the Lyle/Austin Pacelli baseball team an 11-6 win over Houston.
Jonah Rohne went all seven innings on the mound and was the winning pitcher for the Lyle/Pacelli Athletics in the Southeast Conference game on Tuesday at the Riverland Complex.
The visiting Houston Hurricanes jumped out to an early 6-2 lead after three innings in this conference contest. The Athletics then rallied for three runs in the bottom of the fourth and put it away with the six-run uprising two innings later.
Kevin Juenger delivered the key hit in the sixth with a two-run double to put L/P in the lead. The home win allowed the Athletics to snap a two-game losing skid.
"It was nice to see that late rally, but we took way too long to get going in this game," L/P coach Brock Meyer said. "Maybe, I needed to make a better pre-game speech, because the guys got off to a slow start. We made too many mistakes in the early innings and then, had to play catch up the rest of the way."
