L/P boys notch road win

WINONA — The Lyle/Austin Pacelli boys basketball team played Hope Lutheran in a Southeast Conference game on Friday night at St. Mary's University.

A solid defensive effort in the first half sparked the visiting Lyle/Pacelli Athletics to a double-digit lead. The Athletics built on that lead throughout the second half and came away with a 75-52 win.

Skylar Meyer led the way in scoring for the Athletics with 20 points. Damian Haugen had the best game of his high school career with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Adding balance to the offense, David Diang and Jordan Hart were also in double figures. Diang had 17 points and a team-high 13 rebounds, while Hart scored all of his 11 points in the second half.

"We did a good job in the first half and the defense was great in holding them to only 24 points," L/P coach Casey Anderson said. "Skylar got into some foul trouble in the first half and other guys stepped up to help with the scoring load. After the home loss earlier in the week, this was a nice conference win on the road."
