LYLE — A rough first half led to a 41-point loss on Monday night and the Lyle/Austin Pacelli boys basketball team remained winless on the season.
This Southeast Conference game was over in the first half as Lyle/Pacelli only managed to score 11 points by halftime. The offense was a bit more productive in the second half, but it wasn't nearly enough for the L/P Athletics in a 73-32 loss to the Glenville-Emmons Wolverines.
Glenville-Emmons (4-0, 3-0 SEC) scored the first 27 points of the game. In their home opener, the L/P boys had a dozen turnovers midway through the first half.
"It was an ugly game," Lyle/Pacelli coach Casey Anderson said of the loss which dropped his team to an 0-2 record in Southeast Conference play.
Ryan Rust led Lyle/Pacelli with a game-high 13 points and Carter Guthmiller added nine in the loss. The visiting Wolverines had four guys reach double figures in the road win.
