L/P girls fall prey to Lions

SPRING GROVE — The Lyle/Pacelli girls lost 79-31 to Spring Grove on Tuesday night in a Southeast Conference basketball game.

Spring Grove (24-1 overall, 17-0 SEC) was led by Richell Mehus with 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 9 assists. Katelyn Bjerke added 15 points and 7 rebounds for the home team.

Taylor Elton was the third player in double figures with 12 points. She also had 10 steals, 6 assists, and 7 rebounds to keep the Lady Lions unbeaten in conference play.

Nyabang Diang returned to the L/P lineup and scored a game-high 21 points. Ann Rysavy added six points in the road loss as the L/P Athletics fell to a 12-5 record in the SEC.

This game was essentially over by halftime with Spring Grove taking a 31-point lead. This win gave the Lions a sweep of the season series over the Athletics.


Lyle/Pacelli (14-7 overall) plays a non-conference home game Thursday night against Alden-Conger in Austin.
