FARIBAULT — The Rochester A's Legion baseball team put together back-to-back solid games to sweep a doubleheader Thursday over Faribault.
The A's took Game 1 in five innings, winning 15-2. They belted out nine hits, while Faribault committed four errors.
Riese Zmolek had a big game, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, three RBIs and a run scored. Joshua Newman had a hit, four RBIs and two runs scored. Patrick Bower belted a double and scored two runs, while Tyler Gathman had a double and two RBIs. Brandon Knapp added three runs scored.
Ross Luinenburg earned the win on the hill. He went four innings, allowing no runs and just two hits. He struck out four and walked one.
In Game 2, the A's finished with 11 hits and rolled to a 9-3 win. Again, Faribault had four errors.

Nicholas Smith went 3-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and two RBIs to lead the A's. Gathman went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs, while Jordan Jasik and Knapp added two hits apiece.
Joshua Bakken picked up the win on the hill. He went seven innings, allowing two earned runs on six hits, while striking out five and walking one.
