Legion baseball | Bellevue West 9, Rochester A's 8

On Sunday, the A's lost to Bellevue West 9-8 in the quarterfinals of the Battle of Omaha.

West came into the game 28-3 for the summer already and was ranked No. 1 at one point in the spring HS season in Class A (the Nebraska equivalent to Minnesota's Class AAAA).

Andrew Hanson started and went 4 1/3 innings. Down 9-7, the A's got back-to-back singles by Hanson and Luke McKeon to lead off the seventh. A sac bunt by Charlie Kong and a groundout by Sterling Homard cut the lead to one and moved the tying run 90 feet away, but the A's couldn't get it in.
