ALBERT LEA — The Rochester A's scored seven runs in the fourth inning and survived a late Albert Lea rally to post a 12-10 victory in American Legion baseball on Tuesday night.
Nick Pearson hit a three-run double to highlight a seven-run fourth inning and Pat Bower added two-run single for the A's.
Nick Smith also had an RBI double in the fourth inning and a two-run single in the sixth inning as the A's built a 12-3 lead going into the bottom of the seventh. But Albert Lea rallied for seven runs against two relief pitchers and had the bases loaded with two outs. Smith then came in to get the final out for the save.
Pearson and Smith both had three hits for the A's and Bower added two hits.
"The wind was blowing out and a lot of balls were hit deep," A's coach Jordan Kangas said.

"It was a very good day for offense, and we played good on defense," Kangas added.
Ross Luinenburg allowed three runs over the first six innings to earn the win.
