Legion Baseball: Owatonna sweeps Redhawks

OWATONNA — Hard-hitting Owatonna swept a doubleheader from the Rochester Redhawks in American Legion baseball on Thursday.

Owatonna won 5-0 and 11-1 in five innings to sweep the twinbill.

Sheridan Skala tossed a one-hit shutout in the opener and Owatonna also hit a pair of home runs.

"They were a good hitting team," Redhawks coach Tom Senne said. "We hit the ball hard but couldn't get anything to fall. We really couldn't get anything started."

Matt Stubbs had the lone hit for the Redawks in the opener. Things didn't get much better in the nightcap as Owatonna collected 11 hits and ended the game with four runs in the bottom of the fifth after scoring six times in the fourth.
