DELANO — The Rochester Patriots left 16 runners on base Saturday morning and lost 9-4 to Eastview in the losers bracket of the Division I American Legion baseball tournament.

It was the Patriots' second loss of the event, eliminating them. They won their first game, then lost their next two.

"We just didn't have the sharpness that we had the day before," Patriots coach Terry Heiderscheit said. "But it was a great season. Any time you can get to the state tournament, it's been really good."

The Patriots hit the ball plenty against Eastview, totaling 14 hits. But they just weren't able to get timely ones. The most they scored in any inning was two runs, in the eighth.

Jack Boehm took the pitching loss, lasting two innings. Alex Welder threw the final seven.
