Eric Butorac of Rochester and men's doubles Jack Sock have won their first match at the French Open.
Butorac and Sock defeated Martin Klizan and Ignor Zelenay, both of Slovika, 6-4, 6-4 in the first round. Both doubles teams were unseeded.
This marks the sixth time Butorac has played in the French Open, one of the four Grand Slam events. Sock is playing in his first French Open.
Butorac and Sock advance will face brothers Bob and Mike Bryan in the second round. The Bryans are the No. 1 seed and considered the pair to beat in the French Open.
