Matt Meyer pitched a five-hitter and struck out 14 as the Rochester Royals beat the Dundas Dukes 6-1 in amateur baseball on Sunday.

DUNDAS — Left-handed pitcher Matt Meyer tossed a five-hit complete game to lead the Rochester Royals past state power Dundas 6-1 in amateur baseball on Sunday.

Meyer threw 140 pitches in the game. He struck out 14 and allowed just one walk.

"My body's sore all over," said Meyer, a former minor-league pitcher.

Sam Warren went 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI for the Royals.  Alex Holets and Matt Stubbs both had two hits and an RBI while Michael Michalak also had a pair of hits. Alex Prindle and Jared Campbell also drove in runs for the Royals.

The Royals built a 5-0 lead before the Dukes scored their lone run in the bottom of the four inning.

The Royals (12-4) host Elko at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mayo Field.
