Rochester Mayo used strong passing and serving Thursday night to roll to a 25-12, 25-13, 25-20 Big Nine Conference volleyball win over Albert Lea.
Mayo served 15 aces.
The Spartans were led by Brittany Looker with 22 kills, five digs and seven ace serves. Molly Carlson had 32 assists, seven digs and three aces.
Mayo is 2-0 in the Big Nine and 6-2 overall.

Panthers unbeaten in Big 9
Century notched its third straight Big Nine Conference win Thursday night against visiting Winona, sweeping the Winhawks in short order.
Century improved to 4-2 overall with its fourth straight win, and 3-0 in the Big Nine. Winona is off to a 2-7 start, 0-3 in the conference.

"This was a nice team effort both defensively and offensively." said Century coach Bob Koerner. "I thought our team defense was pretty solid, which lead to effective transitions for our offense."
Brittany Weidman had 11 kills and 13 digs to power the Panthers.
Century competes in the Jackson County tournament on Saturday.

Missed serves hurt Eagles
Lourdes narrowly dropped the first game 26-24 and that might've been the turning point in a close match.
Pine Island pulled away in the fifth game, winning 15-7. The Panthers snapped a three-match losing skid and improved to 4-5 overall,2-2 in the HVL. Lourdes is 1-4, 1-3 in the conference.
"Our serve receive was very good but we missed serves on a couple key points that could have changed the outcome," Lourdes coach Brian Lund said.
"We found out over these first couple weeks that were need to be a high energy team to compete."
Lauren Good led a balanced Lourdes attack with seven kills, and Lauren Herbert had a team-high 32 digs. For P.I., Alex Kaye had 14 kills, and Sara Wobig 23 assists.
Lourdes returns to action Tuesday at Goodhue.
