Straight set wins were the story for the Rochester Mayo girls tennis team in a 7-0 defeat of Austin High on Thursday afternoon at the Paulson Courts.
After getting rained out in their scheduled season opener this past Tuesday, the Austin Packers faced the formidable task of playing the best team in the Big Nine Conference.
It was tough to score points for the Packers in the opener as the visiting Mayo Spartans dominated at the net.
Austin (0-1 overall, 0-1 Big Nine) plays a conference road match at Mankato East on Tuesday.
