The Walleye Searchers of Minnesota will host their 2019 seminar/fundraiser at 6 p.m. Monday at the Rochester Eagles Club, located at 917 15th Ave. SE.
The seminar speaker will be Robert Blosser, a professional walleye angler from Poynette, Wis. He is one of the most consistent anglers on tour, claiming three “Angler of the Year” titles, multiple wins, and plenty of top-10 finishes at the highest level of competitive walleye fishing. He is a past president and current member on the Board of Directors for the National Professional Anglers Association.
The seminar/fundraiser is open to the public at no charge. There will be door prizes, silent auctions, raffles, fishing gear for the kids, and a U.S. Coast Guard presentation.
The proceeds from this event are used to promote youth fishing such as fishing poles and tackle, youth fishing clinics, Lions Club youth fishing contest, Elks Club youth summer camp, sponsor fishing tournament fees for youth under 16 years, Rochester Archery Club youth night, the annual “Take a Vet Fishing” (a day of guided fishing with club members and volunteers and a cookout for the veterans afterwards), Shawn Schneider Memorial Scholarship Fund (Shawn was a local officer that was killed in the line of duty), and the Rutting Ridge Foundation Inc., which helps kids with disabilities enjoy the outdoors).
