Cross country runners from both high schools in Austin will be competing on Saturday at the Class AA and Class A State Meets in Northfield.
Madison Overby from Austin High will be running in the Class AA Meet at St. Olaf College. Overby became the first Austin girl to win a Big Nine Conference championship a few weeks back and she'll be making her second straight trip to state.
Sarah Kahle of Austin Pacelli finished among the top 10 at last week's section and qualified for the Class A State Meet to be held at St. Olaf.
Kahle is the first girl in Pacelli Shamrocks history to go to state in cross country. Kahle's classmates are sending her off as a school on Friday at 12:15 p.m. with a pep rally in the Pacelli Gym.
