LITTLE FALLS, Minn. — Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame guard Gale Gillingham has died at age 67 at his home.
Gillingham's son, Wade, says his dad was lifting weights at home in Little Falls Thursday when he died suddenly. Gillingham says his father apparently suffered a heart attack, but the family has no medical confirmation of that.
Gale Gillingham was inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame in 1982 and made the Pro Bowl five times during his career. He was the Packers' first-round draft choice and played in 128 regular-season games for the Packer from 1996-1974 and 1976, when he returned to play under coach Bart Starr.
Gillingham was born in Madison, Wis. and went to Little Falls High School. He played for the University of Minnesota.
Gillingham is survived by three sons and a daughter.
