The Austin High girls tennis team has a total of seven seniors coming back this season.
Christine Barinka, Emma Nelson, Grace Gravelle, Jenna Anderson, Karyn Potach, Katherine Salazar, and Nicole Hose are the seniors for the Austin Packers.
Abby Ball, a junior, and sophomore Alicia Sforza also saw action on the Packers varsity last season.
There are also some newcomers on this year's team as Lyle/Pacelli has merged its girls tennis program with Austin High. The girls from L/P are young and it will take a while to get adjusted to level of competition in the Big Nine Conference, but they add talent and depth to the roster.
Austin Packers girls tennis team opens the season today in Rochester against perennial Big Nine power, the Mayo Spartans. The home opener at the Paulson Courts in Austin is Tuesday afternoon against Mankato East.
