Although they got the tennis action started between Mankato West and Austin on Tuesday at the Paulson Courts, wet weather forced the dual meet to be postponed.
A possible make-up date for the dual meet might be on Thursday when the Austin Packer travel to Albert Lea. The make-up match could possibly be played later that day with the Big Nine Conference Meet scheduled for Saturday.
The Austin boys did have a make-up meet at Decorah, Iowa, on Monday. Austin won the non-conference dual 7-2, but some of the matches were very close.
"Highlights for Austin in singles was Josh Detwiler, who was down 9-5 in a third-set tiebreaker only to fight off four match points and win 11-9 in the tiebreaker," Packers coach Tommy Tauchnitz said of Monday's win.
"I thought the No. 2 doubles team of Matt Zastoupil and Peter Lindahl really did a nice job of finding the opponents weaknesses. Then, in the second and third set super tiebreaker they really exploited them well."
