Panthers fall to Hudson

FARMINGTON — Century played too good periods, but Hudson, Wis., pulled away in the third to top the Panthers 5-2 at the Farmington girls hockey invitational on Wednesday.

The Panthers played even with Hudson through two periods, sending the game to the final frame tied at 2-all. But Hudson scored three times in the third to pull away.

"We played two good periods, but Hudson got some good scoring chances and pulled away in the third," Century coach Tom Aney said. "It was a good tournament for the girls with some lessons learned and also with a very nice win over Northfield and we are looking forward to building on the positives the rest of the season."

Frankie Mickelson and Karli Reinhart had the Century goals.

Kelsey Miller recorded 42 saves in the loss. Anna Wilgren paced Hudson with three goals and two assists.
