Panthers fall to Mankato West

The Rochester Century girls hockey team suffered an 8-1 Big Nine Conference loss to Mankato West on Friday night at the Rochester Recreation Center.

The Scarlets held a 76-3 edge in shots on goal. Katy Svasnicka paced West with three goals.

Sonia Bakke scored Century's lone goal in the first period, with an assist going to Sultanna White.

Rachel Wohlford had a strong game in net for the Panthers. She recorded 68 saves.

"We played a fair first period, the second period we were a little bit off, but in the third period we played really well," Century coach Dan Maidl said. "It was a much better outcome from the last time we played them."
