Byron 11, John Marshall 3

ROCHESTER — John Marshall and Byron were tied 2-2 until the Bears erupted for five runs in the fifth inning and four more in the sixth to pull away for an 11-3 non-conference victory.

John Marshall is now 4-10 overall while Byron is now 9-2.

Byron scored 11 runs on 12 hits in the game, led by Owen Jefferson-Kroc, who was 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles and four RBIs. Jake Coshenet was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI, while Spencer Nierman was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.

Ethan Loos led JM, going 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored. Nolan Wayne also had two hits, including a double.

JM faces rival Century in a doubleheader at 4 p.m. Thursday at Mayo Field.
