Mayo 73, Winona 63

WINONA — Senior Isaiah Hanson scored 26 points, including the 1,000th point of his career as Mayo topped Winona 73-62 in Big Nine Conference action.

Hanson made four 3-pointers in the game as he helped the Spartans win their 18th game, the second most for Mayo in a season in the past 15 years.

Junior Sawyer Markham drained five 3-pointers and had 24 points for Mayo while Alex Gyarmaty chipped in with 10 points.

"Winona made it tough on us on both ends of the court," Mayo coach Braden Markham said. "Our guys kept their composure and played two solid halves of basketball."

Charlie VandeBerg led Winona (11-13, 9-11 Big Nine) with 19 points while Bryan Cassellius made four triples and had 14 points.

Mayo (18-7, 14-7 Big Nine), which has won three straight, closes the regular season at home at 7:30 p.m. Friday against Albert Lea.

Century 61, Mankato West 55, 2 OT

ROCHESTER — Ryan Ohm and Shaun Wysocki both hit the 20-point mark as Century nipped Mankato West 61-55 in double overtime in Big Nine Conference play.

Ohm had 23 points and six rebounds while Wysocki tallied 20 points and 11 rebounds. Wysocki hit a big layup in the second overtime when the host Panthers pulled away to collect the victory.

"The game came down to some big plays down the stretch," Century coach Jacob Vetter said.

Jack Eustice chipped in with 11 points for Century (16-9, 15-6 Big Nine).

The loss drops Mankato West to 13-12, 10-11 in the Big Nine.

Century will close play in the regular season when it plays at Mankato East, the Big Nine Conference champion.

Austin 73, John Marshall 54

AUSTIN — Austin pulled away in the second half and halted John Marshall's recent surge with a 73-54
Big Nine Conference victory.

Jack Lang led Austin with 22 points and he was one of three Packers in double figures. Ben Diang had 11 points while Buai Duop collected 10 points and nine rebounds for Austin (16-9, 14-7 Big Nine), which led 33-26 at the half.

Logan Tuckner led JM with 15 points while Zach Ladu scored 12 points and Tiare Young had 10 points and six rebounds. The loss snapped the Rockets' three-game winning streak as they dip to 11-14, 10-11 in the Big Nine.

JM closes the regular season when it hosts Northfield at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Austin closes with a road game at Mankato West on Friday.
