ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Rochester Community and Technical College lost a pair of competitive games Tuesday on the third day of games on a Florida trip.
The Yellowjackets lost Tuesday's first game 3-0 to Muscatine (Iowa) and lost the second 3-2. Muscatine is an NJCAA Division I, full-scholarship school.
In the first game, Jordan Martini, Mitch Anderson, Connor Robley and Kiefer Neumann had one hit each. Tyler Schmitz, a sophomore from Stewartville, was losing pitcher with 6 1/3 innings pitched, three runs allowed (one earned), four hits, two walks and a strikeout.
In the second game, Zach Copley was 2-for-3 with a homer and a double, his second homer of the trip. Levi Lochner was losing pitcher, despite allowing just three runs (two earned), three hits and two walks while striking out 10 in seven innings.
RCTC (3-3) has games today, Friday and Saturday remaining on the trip.
