Rochester Community and Technical College was impressive on Saturday afternoon, blowing past Minnesota West 81-65 in Minnesota College Athletic Conference men's basketball at Rochester Regional Sports Center.
RCTC led by just four points at halftime, but then turned things on. The win moved the Yellowjackets to 4-5 overall. They play again Sunday, hosting Bay College (Mich.) at noon.
"It was a good team win for us," RCTC coach Brian LaPlante said. "We played an outstanding second half to push the lead to 23 points at one point. I felt we did a good job offensively of moving the ball and defensively we were solid."
Keivonte Watts had 21 points, Elijah Flenorl 19, Jerome Cunningham 13 and Stephen Olander eight. Flenorl hit all four of the 3-pointers he attempted.
