ST. CHARLES — The Southland Rebels girls basketball team won a tough Three Rivers Conference road against St. Charles on Thursday night.
After falling behind in the first half, it would take a rally from the Rebels to win their third straight game. The Southland girls got their offense rolling in the second half as they came back for a 69-65 win.
It was a seven-point deficit at halftime for the visitors. They then scored 40 points in the second half to get the road win. The Rebels improved to a 10-4 record in the Three Rivers.
Jana Schammel led the way in the Rebels comeback with a game-high 20 points. She hit four three-pointers to help the Rebels on the comeback trail.
Brandi Schammel also had a solid game for the Rebels with 14 points in the paint. Lindsey Bottema hit a trey and scored in double figures. Madi Schmitz was the fourth player in double figures as the Rebels utilized a balanced offensive attack in the win.

Southland (15-4 overall) hits the road again tonight for a conference game at Chatfield.
