Red Wing loses twice; supersectional is next

DUNDAS — Zach Laffey went 5-for-5 with two homers and three RBIs, but the Red Wing Aces lost 7-6 to Dundas Friday night in 12 innings in Section 1B.

Laffey’s error in the 12th helped lead to Dundas’ winning run.

That set up another game Saturday that Dundas won 9-2. Both teams advance to supersectional play Friday through Sunday.

The Aces, 23-17 for the season, play Duluth at 6 p.m. Friday in Red Wing. The second game that night matches Eagan and Cold Spring.

Top two of the four teams advance to the state tournament in St. Cloud and Cold Spring starting Aug. 24.
