KASSON — The Rochester Redhawks had no trouble in defeating Kasson-Mantorville 9-2 in American Legion baseball Tuesday night.
"The guys showed great discipline at the plate today," coach Jake Ziegler said. "We had two big pinch hits from Max Whitney and Ethan Kaese, which shows that it was overall a big team win. Every player on the bench contributed in one way or another and as a coach that's the way you want to win a game"
Ryan Martin got the win by pitching five innings, allowing two runs (one unearned) on two hits and three walks while striking out seven.
Jase Crowley was 2-for-3. Whitney's pinch-hit was a double.

Highlights: Drew Sathrum had two hits for K-W and Peder Sviggum drove in a run with a double. For P.I., Nathan Waletzko and Luke Schmidt had two hits each. Pine Island committed six errors.
