The Rochester Redhawks got a tuneup for the First District American Legion baseball tournament Monday, doing it nine-inning style.

It was a loss for Rochester, falling 11-7 to Northfield. The Redhawks host Faribault in the first round of the First District playoffs at 5:30 p.m. today. They bring a 16-13 record and a No. 3 seed into the game.

"It was a good game for the players," Redhawks coach Tom Senne said. "Instead of practicing, it allowed us to hit against live pitching. That's why we scheduled the game."

It was a great contest for the Redhawks' John Lundquist. He went 3-for-3 with two home runs and a double, and drove in five runs. Brad Mathiowetz was 2-for-4 with a double.
