Rochester boys soccer results

Rochester Century finally got the offense that it's been looking for as it blew past Faribault 7-4 in Big Nine Conference boys soccer Thursday at Century.

The Panthers led 5-2 at intermission and were paced in the game by Seyla Ou, who had the first hat trick of his career. Besides Ou's three goals, Samuel Eggebrecht had two, Hussien Alrubayee had one and Peter Beiswanger had one.

Century finished with 20 shots on goal.

"We finally got untracked," Century coach Hal Houghton said. "There were lots of shots and lots of players involved."

Century moved to 1-1-3 in the Big Nine and 2-4-5 overall. It plays at Lakeville South on Saturday.

Mayo settles for tie with Albert Lea

Mayo dominated the game, but still came away with just a 2-2 double-overtime tie against Albert Lea on Thursday in Big Nine Conference boys soccer at Mayo.

Mayo outshot the Tigers by a whopping 22-9.

"We struggled to find the Tigers' net," Mayo coach Charles Abboud said.

Mayo got two goals and an assist from Liam Reid Hathaway. Zach Reeves also had an assist.

Mayo went ahead in the ninth minute when Hathaway converted a corner kick, using a header. Hathaway got his other goal eight minutes into the second half, converting a pass from Tristan Wentworth.

"For the ensuing 32 minutes and an additional 10 minutes of overtime, the Spartans saw many of their shots miss," Abboud said.

Mayo is 4-0-1 in the Big Nine and 6-3-2 overall. It travels to play Austin on Tuesday.

JM drops road game to Mankato West

MANKATO — John Marshall suffered a loss at the hands of Mankato West on Thursday, falling 4-2 in the Big Nine Conference boys soccer match.

Brett Cornforth and Sami Shanaa each had a goal for JM, and Tanner VanDemmeltraadt and Ayomide Adebayo had assists.

Goalie Ben Kellner recorded eight saves for JM.

Mankato West led 2-1 at intermission.

JM falls to 3-2-0 in the Big Nine and 7-4-0 overall.
