FARIBAULT — It figured to be no match between Rochester John Marshall and Faribault.
That certainly held true. Powerful JM blasted struggling Faribault 74-47 in the Big Nine Conference boys basketball game Thursday night.
JM built a 43-25 halftime lead, then emptied its bench in the second half. The Rockets upped their record to 3-0 in the Big Nine and 3-1 overall. Faribault is 0-4, 0-6.
The Rockets had 11 players score.
"I thought our bench seemed to give us a spark tonight with the energy they brought into the game," JM coach Kirk Thompson said.

Farmington too much for Century
FARMINGTON — Century was no match for powerful Farmington on Thursday night, falling 58-39 in the boys non-conference basketball game.
Farmington stretched its record to 4-1 overall, while Century fell to 3-3.
"Farmington is an athletic team and they were more physical than we were," Panthers coach Joe Ohm said. "We couldn't get much going on offense. And we didn't take anything away from them defensively."
Farmington, which also beat John Marshall this season and fell in overtime to Lakeville North — a pair of Section 1AAAA powers — shot 56 percent from the field.
