The Rochester Royals — with the game dedicated to the late Sue Freytag — blasted to an inspired 11-9 win Sunday over Lakeville at Mayo Field in amateur baseball.
Freytag, mother of Royals longtime player Chuck Krom, passed away unexpectedly on June 14. Freytag was a longtime Royals board member and fan. The game began with her family singing the national anthem, as she Sue done many times at Royals games.
"Her memory will live on as a banner with her initials will be displayed at every Royals home game in the section she liked to sit, and in addition her initials will be on the players' helmets," noted Royals manager Kevin Ness.
The Royals proceeded to win the game by pounding out 12 hits. Lakeville had eight.
Jordan Martini went 3-for-4 with three RBIs for the Royals, Jordan Stokes and Drew Block had two hits and two RBIs apiece, and Charlie Hinsch went 1-for-3 and drove in the go-ahead and winning runs.

Jim Strain was the Royals' starting pitcher. He lasted the first five innings before being relieved by Brad Pfeffer.
The Royals (11-6 overall) host the Austin Blue Sox on Wednesday.
