BLOOMING PRAIRIE — The Austin Pacelli boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Blooming Prairie Invitational on Tuesday.
This event was held at the Blooming Prairie Country Club. The host Blossoms won the boys team meet and the Pacelli Shamrocks finished seventh on the day.
The individual winner for the boys was Michael Kuehn of Hayfield with a time of 17:19. Drew Chapek had the highest finish for the Shamrocks in 23rd place with a new personal best time.
"Our top three runners all came in with personal best times led by Chapek's 19:54 and followed closely behind by Stephen Juenger with a 20:03 and Jonathon Koppa with a 20:16," Pacelli coach Jim Parlin said. "It was really good to see our top three runners finishing so close together. Our goal is to continue to move those guys further up in the pack and becoming more competitive as a team."
In the girls meet, the individual winner was Abby Crabtree of New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva. Madeline Kraemer of Pacelli was the runner-up. The Pacelli girls team finished sixth in the meet.

"Our team was helped by two top five performances with Madeline Kraemer placing second and followed close behind by Sarah Kahle, who placed fifth," coach Parlin said. "Both runners ran personal best times and broke 17:00.
"Annie Holtz, who has been trying to recover from a respiratory illness, ran her season best time of 18:10 and finished 27th. Katherine Ethen also ran a personal best, so I was very pleased with our girl's performances. We are really beginning to lower our times. It was great to see two our runners in that lead group."
Pacelli cross country runners next compete in the Zumbrota-Mazeppa/Kenyon-Wanamingo Invitational on Thursday.
