KASSON — One day after picking up the 100th win of her career, senior Maddie Damon collected No. 101 as Kasson-Mantorville blanked Lourdes 10-0 in five innings in Hiawatha Valley League softball.
Damon tossed a one-hitter and struck out 12.
K-M scored eight unearned runs, including seven in the third inning.
"We could have gotten out of that inning with no runs if we would have simply caught and thrown the ball," Lourdes coach Becky Macken said.
"Eighth-grader Anna Taylor pitched great game but she didn't get any defense behind her," Macken added. "It was unfortunate to play that way against a decent team."

Chante' Thome went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs for Kasson-Mantorville, the defending Class AA state champion.
Grace O'Dell had the lone hit for Lourdes.
