State girls volleyball meet in Austin this weekend

Austin will host the Minnesota Sports Federation Girls Volleyball State Championships Saturday and Sunday.

Games will be held at Austin High School and Ellis Middle School starting at 8 a.m. each morning.

Fifty-five teams are entered. Local school districts participating include Austin, Hayfield, Blooming Prairie, Albert Lea and Southland plus the Iowa communities of St. Ansgar and Osage. U12, U13, and U14 age groups will play Saturday; U15, U16, U17, and U18 age groups will play on Sunday.

Eleven teams are registered in U12, eight in U13, 11 in U14, seven in U15, five in U16, seven in U17 and six in U18.
