Eastview, which bumped Red Wing from its quest for the state championship, finished the job Monday, edging Bemidji 1-0 in the title game at Target Field. Evan DeCovich threw a two-hit shutout for the Lightning, striking out five and walking one. DeCovich pitched a complete-game six-hitter last Friday as Eastview beat Red Wing 3-1.

Eastview, ranked 14th in the season's final state poll, finishes with a 22-5 record. No. 3 Bemidji ends up 25-3.


Class AA

Holy Family Catholic of Victoria knocked off defending champion St. Cloud Cathedral 5-0 in the AA title game, the second of three at Target Field. Five of Holy Family's seven hits were doubles.

No. 2-ranked Holy Family ends up 25-4; No. 7 Cathedral finishes 24-6.

Class A

St. Agnes posted its third shutout victory in three state tournament games, defeating Lac qui Parle Valley 6-0. Jack Fossand, who pitched a 1-0 win in the quarterfinals against unbeaten New York Mills, pitched a four-hitter. striking out four.

No. 6 St. Agnes ends up 23-6, unranked Lac qui Parle 18-10.
